New Palestine Cemetery is a 501c3 Non for profit cemetery association of the grave holders. We receive no support from the Federal, State, or Town government. If you have a suggestion to make the cemetery a more beautiful place all donations are tax deductible and appreciated. Q. How do I get a head stone for my grave in the cemetery? A. Headstones can be purchased by your funeral home or by your monument company. All stones/benches/vases must have a foundation provided by an approved foundation company. All monuments must follow the cemetery rules and regulations which are listed on this website. Q. I need a date added to a headstone? A. Contact whom you purchased your headstone from or a local monument company, and they can provide this service for your headstone? Q. Why is their no grass on my grave? A. The Cemetery sows grass seed twice a year in the fall and in the spring. It can take many seasons for a full stand of grass to take hold. We can only water by natural rainfall which will sometimes inhibit grass growth. Q. My flowers are gone from my grave? A. During storms and windy days flowers and items blow off of stones and get destroyed or blown away. Please make sure to afix your decorations well. The Cemetery is not responsible for any decorations left on cemetery property. **Decorations must not be in the way of contracted mowing crews.** Q. The dirt has sunk around my headstone or vault what do I do? A. Dirt settles during and after rainstorms. With being a volunteer cemetery we strive to try to catch when this happens. (and it can happen numerous times to the same area) But we are volunteers and are not daily in the cemetery please kindly notify the cemetery (by Phone or Email) and a volunteer will fill the void as soon as they can.
